While preparing a description for this place, we spent around half an hour scrolling the zoo’s Instagram Feed – its animals are so cute, we can’t stop watching and uwu-ing. This zoo is one of the largest and the funniest zoos we know. 

You will be surprised, but this zoo offers a number of activities except watching diverse animals:

Feeding America flamingos, rhinos and giraffes, camel rides, sea lion presentations, interaction with colorful lorikeets, etc.

What makes this place ideal for a date is a couple of cafes and places for dining. Yeah, feeding animals is great but don’t forget about feeding your stomach, as well. Lotus Pavilion, Safari Café, The Canopy, Big Rivers Café, the Carousel Café, and the Lakeside Café are at your disposal. 

The visit to such a place will turn into a real adventure, exciting and fun. It’s worth adding to your checklist.

2. Oklahoma City Museum of Art

Move to the heart of downtown to find the best art spot in Oklahoma.  There, you will find the collections of modern and ancient art pieces and temporary exhibitions. 

  • You will be amazed by Dale Chihuly blown glass sculptures. They look like magic.
  • Photography works by Elliott Erwitt, Imogen Cunningham, Alfred Stieglitz, and Brett Weston won’t leave you indifferent.

A beautiful space in a concrete jungle. Coming here, you dive into some other world: fragrances, a blaze of colors, freshness,  natural esthetics. This place is inspirational – it will become your source of energy, which a big city takes from you. 

Take your sweetheart to this place to be filled with calmness and to take a couple of adorable photos. 

And no, you won’t just look at plants here. There are two interactive water features: The Thunder Fountain and the Seasonal Water Plaza. Plus, there is a cascading waterfall in the Crystal Bridge Conservatory.

4. Henry Overholser Mansion

Built by the father of Oklahoma, this mention must be visited together with your date. Why? The mansion is hauntingly beautiful. It is especially cool in October because of Halloween vibes: its visitors can listen to the spooky stories of Oklahoma history and get a rare glimpse inside the Overholser Mansion after dark.

The house is a museum now – all the interior and exterior are preserved as they were more than a century ago. It will be a great walk through the history of Oklahoma City.

One thing we can say for sure: Henry Overholser mansion totally deserves to be among the best things for couples to do in Oklahoma City.
